Draw DNA

A quick profile of this draw’s main numbers: odd or even, low or high, and the total.

Odd 2
Even 4
Low 2
High 4
Sum 204

Low numbers are 1 to 26 and high numbers are 27 to 52. The marker places the total between the smallest possible (21) and the largest (297). In the latest 166 draws, about 27% had the same odd/even split and about 27% the same low/high split. This describes what already happened and says nothing about the next draw.

Do Lotto and Lotto Plus 1 look alike?

On the 164 recent dates when both had a draw, their main numbers shared 0.60 numbers on average. Two sets of 6 numbers picked completely at random from 52 would share about 0.69. When the two figures are close, it just shows the draws are separate and random.

How Lotto works

Lotto is a South African lottery game usually drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You choose 6 numbers from 1 to 52, and a bonus ball is drawn as well. Prizes are paid across several divisions depending on how many of your numbers match, and for some divisions whether you also match the bonus ball. There are 20,358,520 possible combinations, so the jackpot chance for one ticket is 1 in 20,358,520.

This page is a record of draws that have already happened. We’re independent: we don’t run the game, sell tickets or take bets.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I see the most recent Lotto numbers?

At the top of this page, which shows the latest draw in our archive with the bonus ball and the winners in every division. For the very latest official result, check the National Lottery’s own channels.

What is the bonus ball for?

The bonus ball only matters for some of the lower prize divisions, such as matching five numbers plus the bonus ball. It can’t win the jackpot, which needs all 6 main numbers.

What are the chances of winning the Lotto jackpot?

You win the jackpot by matching all 6 main numbers. With 6 numbers drawn from 52 there are 20,358,520 possible combinations, so one ticket has a 1 in 20,358,520 chance.

How do I check my Lotto ticket?

Type the numbers from your ticket into the ticket checker and any that match the draw light up. It runs in your browser and nothing is saved on our server. It is a quick check, not proof of a prize, so confirm with the official result before you claim.

Is Lotto Plus 1 the same as Lotto?

No. Lotto Plus 1 has its own results, separate from the main Lotto draw, so its numbers can differ from the same night’s Lotto numbers.

Where do these results come from?

We record each draw from the results the lottery operator publishes and keep them in our archive. If something here differs from the official result, the official result is correct.

Do past Lotto results help predict the next draw?

No. Draws are random and every valid combination has the same chance each time. Past results are a record of what happened, nothing more.
