Independent site: TechChamp is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the South African National Lottery, its operator or its regulator. We do not sell tickets, run games, process claims or confirm wins. Lottery draws are random, and nothing on this site can predict them or improve your chances of winning. You must be 18 or older to play.

What TechChamp is

TechChamp is an information and reference site for people in South Africa who play the lottery or are curious about how it works. We keep an archive of past draw results, show how the numbers have behaved over time, and write guides that explain the games, the odds and the practical side of playing, such as checking a ticket and staying safe from scams.

We aim to be a clear, honest alternative to the many sites that overstate what lottery data can do. We would rather tell you that results can’t be predicted than sell you the idea that they can.

What we publish

  • Results. The numbers drawn and, where we hold them, the winners and prize amounts for each division, with a ticket checker that runs in your browser and saves nothing. Browse the results.
  • Statistics. Frequency counts, gaps, odd/even and high/low splits and similar summaries of past draws. They describe what has happened. They are not forecasts. See the statistics pages.
  • Guides. Educational articles on odds, prize divisions, rollovers, claiming prizes, scams, budgeting and common myths. Read the guides.

Our archive is a record we keep ourselves. It may not go back to a game’s very first draw, and it isn’t an official history.

How we record results

We add each draw to our archive after the operator publishes the result. Because we record results by hand or with our own tools, our archive can lag behind the official announcement and can occasionally contain mistakes. The operator’s own published result is always the one that counts. Please confirm any result, and in particular any possible win, on the official National Lottery channels before you act on it. Our guide to using results archives explains the limits.

Our approach to content

  • No predictions or guarantees. Every draw is random and independent. We don’t claim that any number, pattern, chart or system can improve your odds, and we don’t sell tips or “winning numbers”.
  • Real data, clearly labelled. Where we show figures from our archive, we say what they are and what they can’t tell you. We don’t invent results, and we don’t publish prices, deadlines or prize amounts we can’t verify.
  • Plain language. We explain things the way we’d want them explained to us, without jargon or hype.
  • The official source is the authority. For rules, results, prizes and claims, we point you to the operator and the regulator.
  • Responsible play. We treat the lottery as entertainment with a cost, not a way to earn money. See our guide to setting a responsible lottery budget.

How the site is funded

TechChamp is free to use. The site may display advertising, including ads served by Google and other advertising partners, and that is how we cover the costs of running it. Advertisers don’t decide what we publish, they can’t pay for a result, a ranking or a recommendation, and advertisements are kept separate from our content and labelled where required. We don’t sell lottery tickets and we don’t accept payment to say a game or a number is likely to win.

To see how advertising, cookies and your data are handled, read our privacy policy.

What we are not

  • We are not the National Lottery, its operator (Ithuba) or its regulator, and we are not authorised to speak for them.
  • We do not sell tickets, accept entries, confirm wins, check ticket ownership or process claims.
  • We will never ask you for your ID, bank details, passwords, one-time passwords or a photo of your ticket.
  • We are not financial, legal or gambling-treatment advisers.

If a message, page or social-media account claims to be TechChamp and asks for any of the above, it isn’t us.

Found a mistake? Tell us

Errors happen, and we’d like to fix them quickly. If you spot a wrong number, a wrong date, a broken page or something misleading, please let us know. Tell us which page and what you think is wrong, and, if you can, what the official source says. We’ll check it and correct it.

You can reach us through our contact page.

Play responsibly

The lottery is for adults aged 18 and over. A ticket is entertainment with a cost, not an investment. Set a budget you’re happy to lose, never chase losses and never borrow to play. If gambling is affecting you or someone close to you, free and confidential help is available from the National Responsible Gambling Programme on 0800 006 008 (please double-check the number on their official website).
