How a lab works
Every lab starts with the same question: looking back at recent draws, which numbers have come up most, most recently, or not for a while? You choose how much each of those counts, and the lab re-ranks the numbers as you move the sliders.
Frequency
How many times a number has been drawn in the recent sample. A higher weight pushes often-drawn numbers up the list.
Recent form
Whether a number has appeared in the latest few draws. A higher weight favours numbers that showed up lately.
Gap since last drawn
How many draws have passed since a number last appeared. A higher weight favours numbers that have been absent longest.
How to use the labs sensibly
- Open a lab for the game you follow.
- Move the sliders and watch how the ranking shifts. The point is to see how much the result depends on the settings you choose.
- Compare your picks with past results on the game’s results page to see how often similar numbers actually came up together.
- Remember that the next draw starts fresh, whatever the ranking says.
Where the numbers come from
Each lab uses draw results stored in our archive, taken from the results the lottery operator publishes. The sample covers up to the last 100 draws for that game, so a newly added game or a short history means a smaller sample and less meaningful counts. If a result here ever differs from the official one, the official result is correct.
Common questions
Is this a forecast?
No. The labs rank numbers using past draws, and past draws don’t influence future ones. Think of it as a way to look at the data, not a prediction.
Do the labs improve my chances of winning?
No. Every valid combination has the same chance of being drawn, whatever the ranking looks like.
Where do the numbers come from?
From draw results stored in our archive, taken from what the lottery operator publishes. If a result here differs from the official one, the official result is correct.
Why do different settings give different lists?
Because the ranking depends entirely on how much weight you give frequency, recent form and gaps. That is exactly why none of the lists should be read as a recommendation.
Are you connected to the National Lottery?
No. TechChamp is independent and not affiliated with the National Lottery, Ithuba or any official operator.

Play responsibly
The lottery is for adults aged 18 and over. Think of a ticket as a bit of entertainment, not a way to make money. Only spend what you can comfortably afford to lose, and don’t chase losses. If gambling is affecting you or someone close to you, please talk to a qualified support organisation in your area. Read our responsible play page
