Please note: this is independent information. TechChamp isn’t affiliated with the National Lottery or its operator, and an online checker isn’t an official result. Always confirm a possible win through the official channels. Lottery draws are random. You must be 18 or older to play.

The short version

  • A checker compares your numbers with a published result. That’s all it does.
  • Check the right game, the right draw date and every board, including any extra ball.
  • A genuine checker only needs your numbers, never your ID, bank details or ticket photo.
  • Only the official operator can confirm a win.

How to read your ticket

Before you use any checker, look carefully at what your ticket actually says. The exact layout depends on the game and where you bought it, so read yours, but you should be able to find:

  • The game. Lotto, PowerBall, Daily Lotto and their add-ons are separate games with separate results.
  • The draw date, or dates. A ticket can be for more than one draw, so check each date separately.
  • Your numbers. Every board you played has its own set of numbers, and each one needs checking.
  • Add-on games. If you also played something like Lotto Plus 1, that’s a separate draw with its own result.
  • Any extra ball choice. Games with a PowerBall number or bonus ball have more to check.

The most common checking mistake is comparing the right numbers with the wrong game or the wrong date.

How an online ticket checker works

There’s nothing mysterious about a ticket checker. It takes the numbers you type, looks up the published numbers for a draw, and counts how many are the same. Order doesn’t matter, so your 7-12-30 matches a draw of 30-7-12. The checker then shows you the matches and the total.

That’s the whole job. It doesn’t know whether your ticket is real, who bought it, whether it’s still valid, or whether a prize can be paid.

Quick checker: the latest draws

Choose a game, type the numbers from one board of your ticket, and see how many match the latest draw in our archive. For a particular older draw, use the ticket checker on each draw’s page in our results. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Your numbers

This checks your main numbers against the latest draw we hold. It doesn’t tell you which prize division you’re in or whether a prize is payable. Always confirm through the official channels.

What a checker can and can’t tell you

What an online ticket checker can and can’t do
A checker can…A checker can’t…
Count how many of your numbers match a published result.Confirm that a prize is payable.
Show which numbers matched.Prove that your ticket is genuine or that you own it.
Save you from comparing long lists by eye.Replace the official result, which is always the final word.
Help you spot an obvious non-winner quickly.Tell you whether a deadline has passed or what documents you’ll need.

Safe habits when you check a ticket online

  • Only enter your numbers. A results site doesn’t need your name, ID, bank details, a photo of your ticket or a password.
  • Never upload or post a photo of your ticket. It can be misused, and a checker doesn’t need it.
  • Check the address. Use sites you trust, or bookmarks, rather than links in messages.
  • Be wary of “free ticket check” offers that arrive in messages or ads, especially ones that ask you to log in or pay.
  • Check the game and date first, then every board and any extra ball.
  • Confirm officially. Treat any online checker as a convenience, and the official result as the decision.

If your numbers match

  1. Stay calm and keep it private for now.
  2. Confirm the result on the official channels.
  3. Sign your ticket and keep it safe. Don’t post photos of it.
  4. Find out which prize division you matched and what it paid. Our guide to prize divisions explains how they work.
  5. Follow the official claim instructions. See how to claim a National Lottery prize or how to claim a small prize.

Playing sensibly

Checking a ticket is the fun part, so it’s a good moment to remember the basics: a ticket is entertainment with a cost, not a way to earn money. Set a fixed budget you’re happy to lose, never chase losses and never borrow to play. Our odds guide shows the real chances. Frequently asked questions

Can an online ticket checker tell me I’ve won a prize?

No. A checker compares the numbers you type with a published result. It can’t confirm that your ticket is genuine, that you own it, or that a prize is payable. Only the official operator can confirm a win.

Is it safe to use an online ticket checker?

Yes, if it only asks for your numbers. A results site never needs your ID, bank details, a photo of your ticket or a password. If a site asks for any of those, close it.

Does your checker save my numbers?

No. The checkers on TechChamp work in your browser and don’t send or store your numbers on our server.

What if the checker says I matched but the official result says otherwise?

Trust the official result. Independent sites can contain mistakes or lag behind the announcement. Tell us if ours is wrong so we can fix it.

Do I need to check the bonus ball or PowerBall number?

Yes, where the game has one. It can change which prize division you’re in. Our results pages show the extra ball, and the official rules say how it counts.

I matched some numbers. What do I do next?

Confirm the result on the official channels, keep your ticket safe, and check the current official claim instructions before you do anything else.
